What is Cystic Acne?
Acne cysts are a severe and painful form of acne. They are soft, large and fluid-filled bumps, that form beneath your skin's surface. They are the most likely to leave behind scarring, which is why it's best NOT to pick at them.
What are Pustules & Papules?
Inflammatory acne causes swelling and redness. Apart from sebum and dead skin cells, bacteria is another major player when it comes to clogged pores. These in turn, cause acne that are called pustules and papules. They are inflammation-causing material, trapped in your skin.
What are Blackheads?
Blackheads are the result of clogged pores, where the clogging is caused by sebum and dead skin cells building up. The area appears black as the surface is open and melanin in your skin oxidises.
What are Whiteheads?
Whiteheads, like blackheads, are also the result of clogged pores, where the clogging is caused by sebum and dead skin cells building up. The difference is that with whiteheads, the surface is not open and the melanin in that area does not oxidise.
